BIO
Born in 1989, Sarah Lancman is a French singer, pianist, and composer born and living in Paris. From the age of seven, she began studying classical piano at the Conservatoire du Centre in Paris. Many years later, while completing her Bachelor's degree in composition, jazz piano, and voice at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU), she also won First Prize in the international Shure Jazz Voice Competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), chaired that year by Quincy Jones in 2012.
Sarah has toured internationally several times: Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia as well as Turkey, Switzerland, Spain, Ukraine and Slovenia. In 2016, she was invited by the Jazz Foundation of America to perform in New York as one of the three "Rising Stars" (new rising stars). For five years, she collaborated with Giovanni Mirabassi on the Jazz Eleven label as an artist and co-founder until 2021, then decided to create her new production structure Lancman productions in April 2023.
Her sixth album released on May 26, 2023 entitled "Le pouvoir des mots" (Unlimited Music France) is imbued with a majestic sweetness in which she reconnects with her love of the piano. She plays and sings on original compositions inspired by the world of Michel Legrand, Charles Aznavour thus mixing her love for Jazz & Chanson on arrangements by Philippe Maniez, surrounded by the prestigious Hanson Quartet.
She is currently preparing her new album with piano/voice, folk guitar, double bass, drums and surprise guests, which she will record in New York in 2025.
